The summer party is often one of the most important shared events of the year for a company. It is where the project team from Q1 finally meets the client consultants from the other office, where managers are seen without their Teams backgrounds, and where one good evening can resolve three months of internal misunderstandings in record time. But that requires the party to actually be good.
That is where we come in. Bliss CPH is a full-service event agency that plans and delivers summer parties for Danish and international companies – from the first idea to the final clean-up. Founder Cat Bjørnholt and the team behind Bliss have created everything from intimate garden parties for leadership teams to large summer parties with several thousand guests in marquees, at manor houses and in closed-off outdoor spaces.
We offer two models: we can take care of the entire summer party, or we can focus on the design alone. You choose what suits your organisation best.
This is the solution most of our clients choose, and it is the one we recommend if you would rather spend the summer doing something other than calling catering companies and DJ bookers. When you place your summer party in our hands, all you need to do is approve the proposals and turn up on the day when everything is running.
We find the venue or location. Bliss has a broad network of venues across Denmark: manor houses, estates, vineyards, beaches, fields, industrial halls, restaurants with terraces and private courtyards. We know the difference between a location that looks beautiful on Instagram and one that actually works when 200 guests need to use the toilet at the same time.
We handle the catering. Summer food has its own logic: cold dishes that do not melt, BBQ that is not ruined by the wind, a classic grill buffet or a station dinner where guests create their own plate. We obtain proposals from catering companies that match your budget and menu preferences – from garden dinners with Danish strawberries and rosé to street food concepts with several food stations. And we make sure guests with allergies, vegetarians and gluten-free guests have just as good an experience as everyone else at the table.
We select the drinks and bar solution. A welcome drink in a glass pavilion, a mobile bar with bartenders, a cocktail station or a classic wine and beer setup. Summer parties are different from Christmas parties when it comes to drinks, and we plan the quantities accordingly.
We book the entertainment. Live band, DJ, beach games, paintball, tastings, a magician, speakers or a combination – depending on whether you are a leadership team who would like to talk, or a sales department that needs to dance. We also provide the staff on the day: waiting staff, doormen, cloakroom attendants, technicians and security where needed.

Put simply: you grill sausages with your colleagues while we take the calls, keep the timeline on track, make sure the music starts when it should, and ensure guests get home safely.
For many of our clients, it is the first summer party in years where the HR manager has actually been able to enjoy their own welcome drink in peace.
If you already have a location, a caterer and a plan for the day, we can instead create the design and atmosphere. This is the second way to work with us.
We work with the scenography: table settings, flowers, fairy lights, lanterns, textiles, photo backdrops, the arrival area and a cohesive atmosphere that brings the location together. This could be classic Danish summer with peonies, white tablecloths and natural colours, or something more stylised with terracotta, olives and candlelight in the sand.
In practice, we visit the location, talk through the atmosphere with you, deliver a moodboard presentation and take care of installation and breakdown on the day. You or your existing supplier handle the rest. We are there to make the space beautiful.
One of the biggest differences between a summer party and a Christmas party is that summer parties are usually held outdoors or partly outdoors. This creates a better atmosphere, more space and a completely different kind of evening – but it also requires more logistics. Marquee, weather and power need to be in place, and there must be a plan B if the rain arrives.
We handle it. Bliss has experience with marquee solutions of all sizes, from elegant sailcloth marquees to classic party tents with solid flooring, heating and toilet trailers. We coordinate setup with the suppliers, make sure power and sound are correctly dimensioned, and have a clear plan for what happens if it rains, gets windy or reaches 32 degrees.
That is exactly what experience means here: we have seen weather ruin parties before, and we plan accordingly. In practice, this means we always have a plan B ready, and that we make the decision on rain or sun no later than 48 hours before the party, so suppliers have time to adjust.
A summer party project with us typically takes 8–12 weeks from the first conversation to the day itself, provided you contact us in good time. If the event is to take place in June or the first half of July, we recommend getting in touch in January or February, as good marquees and venues book up quickly.
We start with a no-obligation conversation, where you tell us about your company, number of guests, whether children and partners are invited, your budget framework and what you have done in previous years. We also ask what did not work last time, because that is often where we find the biggest improvements. From there, we prepare a proposal with two or three concepts at different price levels.
Once you have chosen, we begin booking, contracts and planning. You get one dedicated project manager from our team, and you only need to be involved when real decisions have to be made about menu, drinks or entertainment. On the day itself, we are onsite many hours before the first guest arrives.
